The GISING BARANGAY MOVEMENT (GBM) is a people’s initiative to awaken the sense of sovereignty in all Filipinos so they can assert it to assure good governance of the barangay (village community) and for all levels of the bureaucracy. An awakened and assertive sovereignty is essential for institutionalizing democracy through the proper functioning of its governing processes at its primal level, the grassroots.
